The important distinction between the older saved memories feature and the current system is that users cannot access or change information stored in chat history memory. ChatGPT now evaluates complete interaction histories instead of fragmented information segments, which results in dialogue responses that are more meaningful and relevant.

Users with ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscriptions now have access to our enhanced memory functionality as it starts rolling out today. According to OpenAI the deployment of this update will be staggered over several weeks meaning immediate access will not be available to all subscribers. The initial rollout excludes certain regions such as the United Kingdom, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. The exclusion of certain regions from the initial rollout probably results from regulatory requirements or specific regional conditions. OpenAI has not disclosed when the feature will become available in these regions.
